Elizabeth Lanning

Elizabeth Lanning has been instructing dance for 20 years. She holds a BA in dance from the University of Washington. She opened Elizabeth's Dance Dimensions in 1992. Ms. Liz's achievements as a teacher and choreographer are extensive.

She was the creator and director of the professional NBA Seattle Sonics Dance Team in 1987. Liz served as Dance Masters Chapter #39 Performing Arts Competition Director for three years and chapter secretary between 1997 - 2000. She was Eastside Ballet Company's director of Swan Lake for 1989 & 90, Miss Seattle Dancers and Miss Auburn Dancers.

Ms. Liz has been recognized for her creative and innovative choreography, winning prestigious choreography awards from LADF, Starpower, DMA and New York Dance Alliance's (NYDA) 'Critics Choice Award'. She is the Artistic Director of the regional and national award winning EDD performing dance company - "Mo-dazz", which she founded in 1989. "Mo-dazz" was the Starpower National Champions in 1998 and winners of numerous high overall score and cash awards. Many of her students have earned regional titles, including, DMA's Pacific Northwest Miss Dance 1995, 96, 97, 98, 99 & 2000, Mr. Dance, Teen Mr. Dance, Teen Miss Dance, Junior Miss Dance, Ms. Starpower, Ms. Spotlight and national title holder Miss Winners International. Several of her DMA titles holders have also placed in the top 10 at DMA's National Competition. In addition, many students have received scholarships from DMA, LADF, Dance Educators of America (DEA), NYDA, Company Dance, & TREMAINE. Her students have gone on in the professional arena with Alvin Alley Dance Company, Spectrum Dance Company, and earned scholarships at the EDGE in Los Angeles & the Sonics Dance Team.

As Artistic Director, ~ She strives for excellence at all levels of dance instruction with an emphasis on proper and safe technique. She has written syllabi for pre-school through Level 2 for EDD's dance program, ensuring continuity among the instructors. Curriculums for Level 3 and up are geared for both the recreational & competitive dancer. Ms. Liz is a caring, vivacious and motivational teacher.
