ELEMENTARY PROGRAM | AGES 3 - 8
Ages 3 - 5 years old
Creative Dance - Explore movement, imagination and music with basic pre-ballet and pre-jazz dance. Cooperation, empathy and classroom skills are learned alongside early dance steps and creative fun.
Ages 6 - 8 years old
Pre-Pro Kids - This class offers children a chance to explore ballet, and the up-tempo beat of jazz dance, with 30 minutes per class devoted to each discipline. Creative dance, mime and movement games serve as a foundation for learning basic dance positions, skills and vocabulary. Dancers develop self-expression, poise and self-confidence in a nurturing environment.
Jazz Hip Hop Fusion - Jazz and Hip Hop moves are incorporated in a fun, upbeat class!
Funk & Roll - Funk and Roll incorporates jazz funk moves and basic tumbling skills! A fun combination and it will be a huge hit!
Pre- Acro Dance Arts - An introduction to tricks and acrobatic skills used in dance.
Tap - Tap technique class, Tap Technique Class. Dance in which the rhythm or rhythmical variation is audibly tapped out with the toe or heel by a dancer wearing shoes with special hard soles or with taps.
EDD AGE LEVELS AND REQUIREMENTS | LEVELS 1- 7
Level 1: ages 8-11
No experience needed.
Level 2 & 3: ages 9-13 | 2 years of prior dance experience recommended
Ballet is REQUIRED 2 x’s a week.
Jazz/Lyrical/Contemporary is REQUIRED 2 x’s a week.
Level 4 & 5: age 12+ | Must have experience of 4+ years of dance
Ballet is REQUIRED 2 x’s a week.
Jazz/Lyrical/Contemporary is REQUIRED 2 x’s a week.
Level 6-7: age 13 – up | Must have experience of 5+ years of dance
Ballet is REQUIRED 2 x’s a week.
Jazz/Lyrical/Contemporary is REQUIRED 2 x’s a week.
Teen/Adutlt Level: ages 12– up
No experience needed.
EDD CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Ballet
This class will focus on proper ballet terminology and technique through the execution of barre work, center, and across the floor exercises. Your child will have a clear understanding of body alignment, movement quality, carriage of upper body, and flexibility.
Ballet Pointe
Ballet pointe technique class. Dancers must take ballet 2x's a week and be registered in Level 4 and up. Pointe shoes are required.
Jazz/Lyrical/Contemporary (J/L/C)
This class will focus on the techniques of jazz. lyrical and contemporary styles and techniques. Developing strong skills and progressing to more complex combinations appropriate for age and level. Jazz is fast movement and dynamic rhythms and energy. Lyrical/Contemporary dance is the fusion of ballet and jazz techniques. Both styles challenge the dancer to use connecting and flowing movement to interpret music and express inner emotion that reflects the mood of the song and lyrics.
Jazz Hip Hop Fusion

Tap

Turns/Leaps/Progressions (T/L/P)
This class will focus on the proper techniques of dance turns, jumps/leaps and incorporate the skills into across the floor and center combinations. Focus on balance, strength and flexibility.
Hip Hop
This class is a fast-paced and energetic dance style using the latest street/urban dance moves set to hip hop music. Hip hop encompasses a wide range of street styles including breaking, locking and popping. This class specifically focuses on developing rhythm and coordination while encouraging individual style.
Pure Tech
This class focuses on building strength, conditioning with attention to kicks, extensions, jumps and progressions across the floor. Class focus will include developing stronger direction change, balance, and exploring textures of movement with a fast pace approach to executing combinations with precision and proper technique.
