Elizabeth Lanning

Elizabeth Lanning has been instructing dance for 20+ years. She holds a BA in dance from the University of Washington. She was the creator and director of the professional NBA Seattle Sonics Dance Team in 1987. Liz served as Dance Masters Chapter #39 Performing Arts Competition Director for three years and chapter Secretary between 1997-2000. She was Eastside Ballet Company’s director of Swan Lake for 1989 & 90., Miss Seattle Dancers and Miss Auburn Dancers.

Liz is EDD’s Owner, Artistic Director of the Mo-dazz Performing Company and a member of the Washington State Dance Studio Owner Coalition (WSDSOC).

Michele Kunigk

Michele has been dancing for most of her life, training in tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet, hip hop and acro. She took an early interest in teaching by the time she was in high school and started a teacher training program that set the foundation for her love of teaching. She went on to the University of Arizona where she taught and assisted classes while studying Psychology and Dance. She performed in many main stage shows, was selected to perform as a guest tap group performer in the International Jazz Dance World Congress in 2003 and taught and assisted in tap workshops while there. Michele enjoys spreading her 'light and love' each day with her dance family in her "2nd home." In addition to her classes she teaches as EDD, Michele is an award-winning choreographer for our Mo-dazz Performing Company, and also the Assistant Director.

Eden Stephens

Eden has been dancing since the age of 5 and started at EDD when she was 11 years old. She was a part of the Mo-dazz Performing Company for 7 years, winning the title of Miss Dance of the Pacific Northwest in 1998 and 2000. Eden is a graduate of the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She was a member of the NBA Seattle Super Sonics dance team for two years and had the privilege of being a guest choreographer for the team. Eden was a part of the EDD student teacher program for 4 years before becoming a member of the EDD faculty, both as a teacher and choreographer of award-winning Mo-dazz routines. Eden calls EDD her “happy place” and considers the studio her “home away from home”.

Jaret Hughes

Jaret is EDD’s hip hop teacher and choreographer. He has been at the core of Seattle’s hip hop and dance scene for many years, going back to his years with the Seattle Supersonics as the first male dancer in the NBA. In addition to his classes, Jaret choreographs award-winning hip-hop routines for EDD’s Mo-dazz teams and is one of the choreographers for the professional dance group Purple Lemonade.

Thomas Phelan

Thomas Phelan is originally from Fort Collins, CO where he received his BA in Performing Arts from Colorado State University. After graduation he spent two years dancing for Alaska Dance Theater in Anchorage. He then moved to Seattle to begin working with Whim W’Him. Since living in Seattle, Thomas has had opportunities performing with Alana Rogers, The Robbie Turner Review, The House of Verlaine, Ballet Bellevue, Olympic Ballet Theater and International Ballet Theater.

Madison Shannon Frost

Madison is a former EDD dancer and Mo-dazz Company member. Madison trained under Elizabeth Lanning as her assistant for several years. Her wealth of knowledge and fun spirited personality is loved by all the dancers! She is an accomplished professional dance instructor, and we are so excited to have her as a part of the EDD dance family.

Dustin Stuart

Dustin grew up training at nationally recognized Allegro Performing Arts Academy in Kent, WA. He eventually continued to educate for the studio, returning frequently over the course of his career to guest teach. Eventually his education moved him to LA, where he signed with agent Jim Keith. During this time, Dustin appeared in several TV commercials and live performances such as the infamous Carnival Ball. He was also a featured dancer on Norwegian Cruise Lines. Throughout his career, Dustin has been a guest judge at some of the top dance companies in Seattle & Las Vegas. In addition to judging these events, he has enjoyed watching his students and choreography consistently win top honors at regional and national dance competitions. Students who trained with Dustin have gone on to professional careers in the dance industry from tours and music videos to TV shows like SYTYCD and most recently, World of Dance. Today he lives in Seattle, WA, with a diverse career which includes teaching for Elite Performance Camp, as well as educating for several of Seattle’s best studios, where he shares his passion for dynamics, musicality and, above all, work ethic.

Alix Chappell

Kent Native, Alix Chappell, fostered her dance education at Allegro Performing Arts Academy from 2003-2019. For the past year she has worked with, “Conder Dance,” a contemporary/ballet company based in Tempe, Arizona. Prior to company work she studied at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia Pennsylvania where she received a BFA in dance and a minor in business. Alix specializes in contemporary dance and can teach a variety of genres.

Alix teaches Technique classes.

Stephanie Golden

Originally from San Diego, California she has traveled most of the West Coast and received her BFA in Modern Dance from Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Her teachers-influencers include Niki Lucia (Danceology Performing Arts Campus), Shannon Darcey-Gilbert (Danceology Performing Arts Campus), Wade Madsen (Cornish), Deborah Wolf (Cornish, Michelle Miller (Cornish), Monica Campbell (UVU), Ang Banchero-Kelleher (UVU), Amy Markgraf (UVU), Tessandra Chavez (Unity LA), Theo Ivey (Oceanside Dance), and Mike Esperanza (Bare Dance Co). She has been teaching various dance styles for over 15 years from Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Locking and house to dance students ranging from ages 5 to young adults. Brielle Sydow

Ms. Brielle started dancing at the age of 3 and joined a competitive company at the age of 6. She grew up taking ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, acro, and a variety of other styles. When she was just 9 years old, she was on America’s Got Talent with her acrobatic team and has won numerous awards since then. She joined EDD and became a member of Mo-dazz when she was 12 and danced with them until she graduated. She was a teaching assistant for EDD while she was in high school but now, she choreographs and teaches on her own.
